Privacy Policy

This policy explains how mSpendVanta for Mac and the mSpendVanta companion app for iPhone (together, "the app"), made by [Your Company Name] ("we", "us"), handle information. It also covers this website.

Your financial data

The app works with information you choose to give it: the statement files you download from your bank or credit card company (OFX, QFX or CSV), and the accounts, transactions, vendors, categories, rules, budgets and bills you create.

• It stays on your devices. Files you import are read on your Mac. The app never asks for, stores or uses your bank passwords, and it doesn't connect to your bank.
• It syncs through your own iCloud. If you're signed in to iCloud, your data is stored in a private iCloud database that belongs to your Apple Account, so it can sync between your Mac and iPhone. Only you can access it — we can't. iCloud is provided by Apple and covered by Apple's Privacy Policy.
• We never receive it. We don't operate servers that receive, store or process your financial data.

Suggestions powered by Apple Intelligence

On Macs that support Apple Intelligence, the app can suggest vendors and categories for your transactions. These suggestions are made by Apple's on-device model, entirely on your Mac. Transaction details aren't sent to us or to any other service for this. You can turn suggestions off in the app's Settings.

Purchases and subscriptions

Purchases and subscriptions are handled by Apple through your Apple Account. We never see or store your payment details. To confirm what you've purchased, the app checks your purchase records with Apple's StoreKit on your device. Apple provides us with sales reports that don't identify you personally. Apple's handling of your purchases is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Analytics, advertising and tracking

The app contains no advertising, no third-party analytics and no tracking. We don't sell or share personal information.

If you've chosen to share analytics with app developers in your device's settings, Apple may provide us with crash reports and usage statistics that don't identify you. You can change this anytime in your device's privacy settings.

When you contact us

If you email us for support, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it only to reply and to help with your question, and we don't add you to any mailing list. Please don't send us your statement files or account numbers.

This website

This website is a set of static pages. It doesn't use cookies, analytics or advertising. Like most websites, our hosting provider may keep standard server logs, such as IP addresses and the pages requested, for security and to keep the site running. The site is hosted by GitHub; see the GitHub Privacy Statement.

Keeping and deleting your data

Your data stays until you delete it. You can delete accounts, transactions and other items in the app. Data stored in iCloud can also be removed from your Apple Account's iCloud storage settings. Uninstalling the app removes the copy on that device; data in iCloud remains until you delete it there.

Children

The app isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the effective date above. If a change significantly affects how your information is handled, we'll also let you know in the app.
